From an early age Cameron was destined to work outdoors. He started working on Estates with a view to working the hills and stalking but soon found his love for gardening called.
Cameron began his own business in 2018, armed with only a mower, cutting grass around Ullapool. His business soon grew and he started offering services for general garden maintenance and site clearance. His thirst for knowledge meant he started an RHS online course, built quite a library of books and picked the brains of keen gardeners everywhere he went!
Just 18 months later and Cameron had the knowledge to start offering more, such as landscaping and small tree work. In 2022 Cameron moved to Dingwall where his business really took off and very quickly built a regular client base, built on recommendations, as well as being able to employ a second person. Always learning, Cameron gained many skills and now offers anything from garden tidy to full landscaping, tree services to fencing and much more. Every day’s a school day and new skills will continue to be gained to enhance the services he can offer new and existing clients.
Cameron uses equipment such as hand tools, hedge trimmers and strimmers to chainsaws and wood chipper. These are regularly serviced and Mackenzie Garden and Grounds is fully insured and also SEPA licensed for waste disposal. Many of his tools are battery powered instead of petrol to reduce noise pollution.
For larger tree work, Cameron works closely with a number of other local businesses to ensure the client gets the best possible service. He has also undertaken courses to gain Lantra qualifications in this field.
